Who is building next to me?
If you need to discuss fencing, for example, you’ll need to know who your neighbours are. Contact the Forest Gardens Sales and Information Centre on 07 4036 1233 and we’ll be happy to help.
What design guidelines do I need to adhere to?
Exceptional presentation and a high standard of housing makes Forest Gardens a great place to live. To ensure that this standard is consistently achieved and maintained, all housing at Forest Gardens is protected by a set of Design Requirements (the Covenant), which are fully managed and administered by Delfin Lend Lease in conjunction with Cairns City Council.
The covenants are not intended to limit choice - if anything a variety of housing and design styles is actively encouraged.
The Covenant provides for:

How can I find out what community groups are available in Forest Gardens?
There are a number of community groups already up and running. Explore Groups to find out how you can become involved. If you would like to establish a new Community Room activity and have questions regarding the room’s availability, contact the Community Coordinator on 07 4036 1233. The Community Room is free for residents to use for non-profit meetings and activities. Drinking and smoking are not permitted in the room or on the surrounding grounds.

Does Forest Gardens have reticulated gas?
Yes, however this is not possible in some elevated areas. Cairns’ gas supplier is Origin Energy. Contact them on 13 24 62.
Who do I phone?
If my TV service is disrupted?
Forest Gardens’ free to air TV service is maintained by Austar. Contact Austar on 13 24 32.
If my local park needs mowing and other maintenance work?
Forest Gardens maintains newly constructed parks and open space areas for approximately 12 months. After this, Cairns City Council takes over all works. Contact Council on (07) 4044 3044.
If I have found an injured or lost native animal?
Wildlife Rescue can provide advice and assistance. Contact a member of this group on (07) 4053 4467.
If I have a lost or have found a lost domestic animal?
Cairns City Council will collect a lost animal. Contact Council’s Animal Management Unit on (07) 4044 3044. If you have lost your pet, contact this number or see the Animal Management Unit website at www.cairns.qld.gov.au. If Council is unable to assist, your pet may have been taken to any of the local vet surgeries, YAPS or the RSPCA. It is worth checking with them too.

Additional local information and a small welcome gift is included in the Welcome Kit, available to all residents regardless of whether they are renting, have bought an existing home, or have recently built. A welcome will take about 30 minutes and is conducted at the Sales and Information Centre at a time that is convenient to you.
